The Pet-Temp measures infrared heat waves from the eardrum region, and provides an accurate reading of the animals body core temperature in one second.
Knowledge of your dog/cat's normal temperature is important for quickly spotting when something is wrong, e.g., impending heat stroke, suspected illness, or convalescence from surgery or illness.

The instructions are easy to follow, and the manufacturer's site provides a helpful video.

Having just received this new style thermometre from Julie I can say it quite definitely works and reads the temperature in one second. Dogs don't seem to mind it or the little beep..and straight away we got reading of 101.3 which is a normal reading. Could welll be handy just to have a check as its not always obvious if a dog has a temperature. One second and you know. Can be used on dogs, cats, and small animals. Much better than the normal type especially when that takes 30 seconds and where you normally put it which some dogs don't care for...!!!!!
