This member of the Toy Group, was thought to have its origins in China and arrived in England when William 111 came to the throne. He was very popular with Royalty and the aristocracy but these days he is popular in all walks of life. The Pug is dignified, very intelligent, good –natured, and sociable. He is also robust and self-reliant having great character and personality. The breed is happy, even-tempered and has a lively disposition. He makes an adaptable companion for young and old and integrates very closely into family life. He can talk with his eyes, has his mischievous moments and usually lives to a ripe old age. Ideal weight is 6.3 - 8.1kg ( 14 – 18lb) |
