The Breed Standard

This Terrier is a classy dog looking his best when nicely trimmed. He is a long-lived breed, having an expected life span of well over ten years. This Terrier is alert, very active, quite vociferous, a bold dog originally know as the rough hair terrier when used for sporting pursuits. Being cheerful and happy the dog makes an excellent playmate for children and a family pet. He should be friendly forthcoming and fearless.

Size: Height Dogs - 15 and 1/2 inches. Bitches slightly less
Weight - ideal weight in show condition 18lbs dogs, bitches slightly less.

Colours- white is a predominate colour with black, black & tan or tan markings.
Brindle, red, liver or slate blue markings undesirable.
