THE PEMBROKE CORGI

The Breed Standard

Life is never dull with a Pemboke. His facial features gives the appearance of being interested in all that is happening. This breed is an outgoing and friendly dog, a dog that is born busy and stays busy through all of its usually long life.
The dogs lungs are clearly built to give the stamina required for a days work as a farm dog. He is also fast enough to duck away from a kick of the cow should his herding instincts lead him to loose patience with his stock.
He has a truly dense undercoat and it would be rare for the breed to feel the cold although he is happy to share all of the modern conveniences with his owners should he be a companion dog. Grooming is not a hard task although he does tend to plough through the mud on a long country walk so a wash would be in order before making contact with the best carpet.
Small in size. This breed does not need to have a great deal of food although he will eat more than he needs so sign up to your local canine weight watchers club. This practical breed can live with all sorts of households and at adds a lot to the fun.
