From the age of nineteen [38 years on] we have owned a number of working Labradors and English Springer Spaniels.

As a keen shooter and clay pidgeon shooting, all my Labs and Spaniels were workers and very good company to have around, as well as being pets raised with our four children. We lost our last Labradoe [Jet] four years ago aged 8 years with cancer and the last of our Spaniels [Blue] in October 2005 ages 11 years.

After the sad loss of Jet we decided to take up the hobby of showing Labs, we started with a five generation chocolate boy Budd in 2003, soon after we bought in a yellow girl Amber, [Carpenny Orange Blossom], from Penny Carpanini and a black girl Misty [Cedartree Mrs Nupkins] from Mick and Jean Causton. In 2005 we bought in a black boy Ty [Oakglen Rum'n Black] from Geoff and Cathey Hatfield...these pups are the foundation of Pitneze Labradors.

In December 2005 we decided the time was right to have our own liiter and these were born on the 3rd March 2006. Amber was mated to Leigh Lesley's [Steeleigh American Express JW] she had a litter of 5 blacks and 5 yellows.

Budd is the eldest of the 4 boys, now three and a half years old. A five generation chocolate we no longer show him but he's now used at stud.
Out of seven matings he's sired 80 puppies, 3 are in the showring. Should you wish to use him he is available to approved bitches.

These two boys we kept from the litter we had in March 2006. I would like to thank Leigh Lesley [Steeleigh Labradors] and Debbie Barnet [Jenpippa Labradors] for all the valuable help they both gave us during and after the whelping.
I would also like to thank Leigh and Debbie also Jean Allen [Allenie] for helping to choose these two boys, which we hope to show in September 2006.

Carpenny Orange Blossom for Pitneze [Amber]

Hip Score 6-6
Optigen {a} Normal Clear

Amber was the first of our bitches brought in from Penny Carpanini. Amber better known to her family as Mamma, rules the roost, she keeps the rest of the boys and girls in check. She has just gone back in the show ring having had two shows coming second in both.

Cedartree Mrs Nupkins for Pitneze [Misty]
14 July 2004

Misty qualified for Crufts 2007 at the Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show coming second in Post Graduate out of 8.
Misty was the second girl purchased from Mick and Jean Causton. She is doing very well in the show ring winning many firsts at Open shows. This lovely girl also qualified for Crufts 2006 but she was unable to go as she came into season.

We bred a litter in February 2007 as we wanted two new puppies to show. The litter was born on 10th February 2007.

Misty, our black bitch was mated to Amanda Stewarts black dog, Jancet Jitterbug at Streamanda, she produced a litter of nine.

We decided to keep one black and one yellow dog pup. We called the black boy [Indie] kennel name Sam-Tini-Mist and the yellow pup [Spirit] kennel name is Free-Spirit. Spirit's name arrived as he was born half way down the yard while Misty his mum went to the toilet!!

We hope to show these boys in early August 2007 if all goes to plan and we will keep you updated as to their progress.
